CHILTERN ASH STAIRS             The Chiltern Ash Stairs was designed as a feature stairs for a tower in a newly built house so the owners could enjoy the panoramic vista of the Chiltern landscape with its magnificent red kites circling above. This is a signature spiral stair design by Sarah George Saxum’s MD, which celebrates edgy, bespoke architectural ironmongery, connecting the tread supports whilst incorporating the risers ,to minimalise the design. The beautiful ash treads, made by the client, are supported and framed by the stainless steel treads carriers, which are cantilevered off the stainless steel pole. Apricot paint on the curved wall onto which the stainless steel handrail is fixed, enhances the ash timber and celebrates the space with its upbeat vibe.
